Predator Franchise

Post by Darth Plagueis »

I'm currently rewatching all the films in this series. I will post my rankings once I am done.

I have always enjoyed the two original films and the AvP ones. I'm not that familiar with the newer ones.
I recently watched Prey and found myself enjoying more this time around that I did in my initial viewing.

Hated AvP and The Predator, but I enjoyed the others I've seen (I didn't watch AvP: Requiem, but legend says no one did because it was so damn dark).

The original is an alltimer.

I'm of the unpopular opinion that AVP2 is enjoyable... Granted I've only seen the director's cut and the blu-ray brightened things up so you can actually see everything lol

I remember looking forward to finally seeing a predalien in a film. I think Wolf is 1 of the best predators in any movie and I was glad they decided to turn up the gore after having pretty much none in the previous film. I will say the humans weren't the best, but I wasn't really there for them lol

Never saw The Predator. Shane Black doesn't have the best track record with me.

The Predator managed to be the only Shane Black i didn't like at all. I was surprised at how much of a turd it was.

The Predator wasn't that bad imo. Certainly not the best but still not that bad.

AvP (extended cut) is better than the original one. But I agree with Wyte about AvP2. It is much better than it is given credit for.

Predator 2 is my favorite of the sequels.

Finally saw The Predator and holy shit, D, you weren’t lying... Of course, 1 area where we disagree is that Shane Black has disappointed me more than he has done anything otherwise.

So, now having seen all Predators as of this point, my rankings look a little something like this.

1. Predator
2. Prey
3. Predator 2
4. Predator: Killer of Killers
5. Predator: Badlands
6. Predators
7. Aliens VS Predator 2: Requiem
8. Aliens VS Predator
9. The Predator
